AMR is a serious public health threat that puts patients at risk and undermines modern medicine, including routine surgery, cancer treatment, organ transplantation and neonatal care. The U.S. needs new antimicrobial drugs, rapid diagnostics and the clinical capacity to ensure these tools reach patients and are used appropriately. 抖阴热门 thanks Senators Hassan and Marshall for bipartisan leadership in strengthening the nation’s capacity to conduct the clinical research needed to prevent, diagnose and treat AMR.

The White House Office of Management and Budget proposed rule (OMB-2026-0034) undermines core elements of the scientific ecosystem that have propelled the U.S. into scientific preeminence over the past 80 years. The OMB proposed rule will thwart the ability to attract and retain talent, rather than placing the U.S. on a stronger competitive footing with other countries, Given the wide range of negative impacts that this rule, as proposed, will have on scientific integrity and ingenuity, 抖阴热门 requests that OMB withdraw this rule.

抖阴热门 Applauds Reintroduction of PASTEUR Act to Combat AMR

抖阴热门 thanks Senators Michael Bennet, Todd Young, Kirsten Gillibrand, Mike Rounds and John Hickenlooper for reintroducing the Pioneering Antimicrobial Subscriptions to End Upsurging Resistance (PASTEUR) Act. More than 35,000 Americans die each year because of AMR, and treating just 6 of the leading AMR threats in the U.S. accounts for $4.6 billion in annual health costs. The PASTEUR Act would establish a new avenue of federal support for the development of new and critical antibiotics and antifungals, and 抖阴热门 backs new improvements made to the bill.

Urge Congress to Oppose White House OMB's Proposed Rule

The White House Office of Management and Budget released a wide-ranging proposal (OMB-2026-0034) to update the terms and conditions of federal funds. If finalized, the rule would damage scientific collaboration and integrity. 抖阴热门 will engage with members of Congress urging them to weigh in with the White House to withdraw the rule. 抖阴热门 has also created an Action Alert for you to quickly reach out to your members of Congress directly to request that they contact the White House to withdraw the rule.

Contact Congress on PASTEUR Act

Senators Michael Bennet (D-CO) and Todd Young (R-IN), joined by Senators Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), Mike Rounds (R-SD) and John Hickenlooper (D-CO), reintroduced the bipartisan PASTEUR Act to strengthen the antimicrobial pipeline. The bill would create a federal subscription-style model to support the development of critically needed antibiotics and antifungals while promoting appropriate use, stewardship and surveillance. This version of the PASTEUR Act was originally introduced in the House in February of this year but hadn’t made it out of committee. Reach out to your elected officials to help move this bill forward.
